Cass House Wedding Photos in Cayucos California

Cass House Wedding Photography

You guys.....this is such an awesome story. Our journey with Crystal and Jacob began when Jacob called us about capturing his wedding proposal to Crystal. Jacob decided to propose where they had had their first kiss, on the steps of a home near downtown Chico. But only problem was, was Jacob wasn’t sure what exact house it was. So with some serious detective collaboration work, we found address. But we wanted to get permission from the owners first to make sure it would be okay. Somehow, within an hour, we had tracked down the owner, talked to them, and got a resounding approval! They also even happened to be out of town, so there would be no distractions when Jacob popped the question.

Jacob proposed, Crystal said "Yes!" and we all went to drinks after! We hung out at the infamous (to Chico) University Bar for drinks. We spent the next couple hours chit chatting, getting to know each other, and getting competitive over some Foosball! Quickly after, they decided they wanted us to be their wedding photographers and we were SO ecstatic.

They got married at the Cass House in Cayucos, California, near San Luis Obispo. We also LOVED her Tulle Wedding Dress from Jaime Bridal. It was amazing to have been part of their entire engagement and wedding story. We have so much love for this couple and can't wait to see what the future brings them.

Check out some of our favorites from their big day!

Chico Engagement Photos - Upper Bidwell Park Session

Chico Upper Bidwell Park Engagement Photography

Mayela and I cannot express how much we love this engagement session in Upper Park. Chico holds so many incredible locations for engagement photos, but Upper Bidwell Park is our most favorite. Everywhere from Wildwood Park, around 5 Mile, up to Horseshoe Lake, and up past Bear Hole, are beautiful places. But a location is only so much, hanging out with our clients in these spots is the best part. You can see how much fun Paige and Kyle are from these photos. Once they were in a pose, they made it there own. Our goal is to always allow photos to reflect our couples personalities, and these do just that. Thank you Paige and Kyle for having us to capture such an incredible time in your lives!

With devotion,

Tyler and Mayela

P.S. Some of our favorite shots are at the end during the sunset

San Francisco Engagement Photos

This was such a fantastic San Francisco engagement photo shoot. We went to both the Palace of Fine Arts and Lands End. Palace of Fine Arts is a Ranalla Photo & Films top location for engagement session. The second location, Lands End, holds so many different looks all in one place, as long as you are willing to go on a little journey. Check out the photos below to see how amazing San Francisco is for your engagement session.

Mindy and Kenny's Wedding

We cannot express how honored we feel to have been able to capture Mindy and Kenny's wedding day. How much they care and love for each other shows in all the photos. It is amazing to us how unique every couple is, and we can genuinely say we are honored for every couple that allows us to be a part of their story.

Mindy and Kenny chose Butte Creek Country Club for their wedding venue. There was a good chance of spring rain on their wedding day, but the weather changed last minute and it was a beautiful and sunny day. For those who haven't heard of a first look, it is when the couple chooses to see each other privately for the first time before the ceremony, rather than the walk down the aisle. Mindy and Kenny chose this for their wedding day and it suited them perfectly. They were able to be emotional and have some time together privately without all the surrounding guests.

Mindy and Kenny have some of the biggest hearts we have met, and are always lending a helping hand. They go out of their way to work with those less fortunate and we are inspired by their kindness and love for others. Stay tuned for a little community project we will be working on with them.

Take a look below at some of our favorite shots from the day!

Patrick Ranch Wedding- Chico Wedding Photography

Elizabeth and Brian's Chico Wedding

Elizabeth & Brian's wedding day was a perfect start to our spring weddings. They chose Patrick Ranch in Chico as their reception venue after a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. John's Church. All of the blooms and citrus trees at the ranch really set the tone for the celebration. With spring weddings there is always a chance of rain, but Elizabeth hoped for sun, and she got it! These two and their crew were such a fun group to be with and the day was filled with all kinds of funny and sappy moments. Elizabeth and Brian chose to do the traditional first look as Elizabeth was walking down the aisle. I love both (pre-ceremony vs. aisle) equally, but there is something about waiting the whole morning and the groom seeing the bride for the first time on the aisle, that just gets me. It's one of my favorite moments during the day, and one of the few surprises you get in life.

We had so much fun witnessing Elizabeth & Brian's special bond and funny faces. The way they talk through their eyes (and noses!) is so cute and something I noticed from the beginning about them. It's like they don't need words to talk to each other and they seem to have this type of relationship with all those closest to them. They were truly grateful for everyone who attended their wedding and had quite a big list of guests. To us, it just goes to show how loved they are and how important they are to those around them.

We feel honored to have been part of their journey and can't wait to witness the future ahead of them.

Take a minute to look through some of our favorites from the day!

We had so much fun with Alie and Brian shooting their engagement photos in San Francisco! We chased the sun all throughout the city to find the perfect locations in able to capture the perfect photos. We started around Crissy Field, then made our way towards Baker Beach. Along the way, we stopped multiple times wherever we noticed the light was good! We even went through Main Post in the Presidio Area. It was quite an adventure and we can't wait to be a part of this couple's special day. Check out a snippet of Brian and Alie's engagement photos below!

Wedding Albums: Family Heirlooms

Wedding Albums: Family Heirlooms

Wedding albums are one of our favorite tangible products you can receive from your wedding day. They often become family heirlooms and we like to envision our clients taking out the album on their 10 year anniversary to relive their day. This will be done on Facebook, on a computer, or maybe on an electronic water TV screen, who knows what the future will be like, but we don't think anything compares to holding a tangible photo. It makes you stop, and look at every corner, and brings you back to that exact moment. We picture our couple sitting down for hours, going over the photos, talking about that special day. If they have children, maybe it is the first time they really talk about their wedding day with them, who was there, what it was like, etc. It can also be used as a coffee table book. When you invite guests over to your house, this is something they are able to look at while spending time with you.

Photographers can make a variety of dimensions and pages that best fit your needs. We offer a 10"x10" album with 20 pages or a 12"x12" album with 30 pages. We also have a selection of material swatches which consist of genuine leather, suede, and linen in different colors so you can pick the one that will best fits your home decor. We make sure your wedding album is of the highest quality and built to last, so it can become a family heirloom and have the ability to be passed down for multiple generations. Every page is 1mm thick so they are not easily bent. Also, there are no seams, so the photos are able to be printed across the entire spread which makes for a beautiful and unique design. On the cover, we will engrave you and your spouse's names to give a final touch.

It is important to ask your photographer how they go about the design process of a wedding album. For us, we first let you choose which photos you want in your wedding album (about 70-100 photos). We then create the layout of the photos. We like to do a clean, modern layout because it is easier on the eyes and flows nicely. We will send you a rough draft of the design layout and make sure it is exactly how you want. There is no limit to the amount of changes you want because we want this to be absolutely perfect for you. This wedding album is going to become a family heirloom that will last for lifetimes to come.

The amount of time that it takes to design your wedding album, and the bare costs are what makes them a higher ticket item, but can be so important and worth it time and time again. If it is not included in a wedding package, ask your photographer if it can be added, or even to offset some wedding costs, see if it is something you can do after the wedding! We know how hard it is to plan a wedding and all the decisions that go into the process, so we hope that this has been a helpful guide for you.

Why Wedding Videos are Important

Why Wedding Videos are Important

Weddings are one of the most important days of your life. You spend months planning and preparing for this one day and before you know it, it flashes by. One way to look back at this magical day is through your wedding photos, but what if there was another way to relive the moment? Wedding photos are only a snapshot of one specific moment, whereas a video is the entire moment. A video gives you a whole new way to relive your wedding.

With a video, you are able to experience things that you would not be able to do with just a photo. You get to hear the vows and witness them as though you are a guest at your own wedding. You also are able to hear the toasts which hold so much emotion that a picture just cannot capture. Not only is it a different way to view your wedding, but it can also collects moments you may not see. For example, imagine a picture of your guests laughing at your reception. With a photo, you only see them laughing. However, with video, you understand why they are laughing and have the chance to be a part of that moment. A video captures the entirety of that point in time.

Not only can you see different times in your wedding of you and your spouse, but you also get to see your guests. Some brides have said that their wedding video is the last moment they have on film with some of their elderly relatives. You get to see how your guests celebrate your special day!

We also shoot wedding videos with a drone, which gives a unique perspective that not everyone gets to have. Drones offer a view point that takes your breath away. Check out the link below to see some of the wedding videos we have shot! Maybe this will inspire you to have your own wedding video.

Kim and Emmett's Indoor Wedding-Chico Wedding Photographer

We were lucky enough to start off our 2017 year with Kim and Emmett's wedding. It was a cloudy, rainy day, which for us, always sets the tone for all kinds of romantic moments. I cannot express how beautiful and heartfelt Kim and Emmett's wedding was. The ceremony was sweet and intimate and they were surrounded by their closest family members. It took place in a beautiful home outside of Chico, California. In earlier talks, Kim and Emmett shared with us how important family is to them. They have two children each from previous marriages, and the bonding of their family of 6 was a tremendous part of their ceremony. Both the bride and groom spoke vows to each other's kids and I wish I had the words here. The vows spoke about how much love and support they have for their children, how they promise to take care of their "mom" or "dad," and how excited they are to be their parent. Even through all the hard things a parent must do, both Kim and Emmett shared that they would always be there for them. I know I saw Mayela shed a few tears across the room as we documented this, as our own family dynamic is similar.

This wedding was cozy and intimate with less than 20 people present at their ceremony. We have learned from being at over 100 weddings, that everyone has their own special day, with their unique focuses. If I could give one focus to Kim and Emmett's wedding, it would be the focus they had on their friends and family. They didn't wish for anything more.  Mayela and I are so happy to have been able to capture Kim and Emmett's wedding day. Here are some of our favorites from the day. Enjoy!

Paris and Venice Destination Wedding- Destination Wedding Photographer

This was one of the most unique experiences I have had as a photographer. It was an absolute privilege, and I have so much more to share! I met the Bride & Groom in an unconventional way, they didn't simply send in a generic photography inquiry, but that's a whole other story for another blog post.

Here are some of the highlights from this unforgettable, spectacular, and breathtaking wedding adventure. 4 days in Paris, 3 in Venice.

Here we go! Enjoy!
